Sounds perfect! I went on something similar in Madeira last year, went down on a toboggan, neither were free 😥

@BlobbyMcBlobface On a toboggan on the snow?

@Magenta I'll find a photo

@Magenta These were originally used in the early 1900s as a form of transport from the mountain villages to the city at the bottom of the hill, they're now a tourist attraction

@BlobbyMcBlobface Oooh interesting. Were they pulled by people then or? Looks as if they could only move well on cement or smooth surface.
Thanks for sharing them.

@Magenta You're welcome. They're pushed/pulled down the hill several times a day by those men dressed in white, then the men walk back up, it's a mile and a half so they're very fit, the toboggans are taken back up on trucks.
The road surface is shiny from wax that they put on the toboggans, they go quite fast in some parts.
Have a go if you're ever in Madeira, it's good fun 😊

@BlobbyMcBlobface I was asking about how they did it back in the 1900's, but must have been the same as present day.

No doubt they were in great shape. Zing! ⚡

@Magenta Oops, sorry, yes they were. Those uniforms are exactly the same as they were all those years ago
