@Magenta These were originally used in the early 1900s as a form of transport from the mountain villages to the city at the bottom of the hill, they're now a tourist attraction
@BlobbyMcBlobface Oooh interesting. Were they pulled by people then or? Looks as if they could only move well on cement or smooth surface. Thanks for sharing them.
@Magenta You're welcome. They're pushed/pulled down the hill several times a day by those men dressed in white, then the men walk back up, it's a mile and a half so they're very fit, the toboggans are taken back up on trucks. The road surface is shiny from wax that they put on the toboggans, they go quite fast in some parts. Have a go if you're ever in Madeira, it's good fun 😊
