We measure the earths speed of rotation relative to the sun.

If there is no sun, stars or planets to reference, are we still spinning?
Northwest · M
The Earth spins because it formed from a rotating cloud of gas and dust that collapsed under its own gravity, causing the material to spin faster as it gathered together to form the planet; this spinning motion is maintained due to inertia, meaning the Earth continues to rotate unless acted upon by an external force to stop it.

@Northwest but how would you measure the spin without a point of reference. You cant tell the time of day by wind velocity.
Northwest · M
@GuyWithOpinions You were asking if we would still be spinning. The spin of the Earth, through a phenomenon called the Coriolis effect, significantly influences the direction of both wind and ocean currents. You did not ask about how we can tell time.

On the planet you describe there would be no life, for without a Sun there would be no light, and it would be close to 0 kelvin and there would be no life, so while time is elapsing, who's going to keep the time?
