If you’ve had sleep paralysis, what was the thing you saw in the room with you?

I had it when I was 10 and 11, and every time the thing I saw in the room with me was column of darkness roughly 9 feet tall and 3 feet wide…a bit like the smoke monster in Lost, but vertical. It felt evil, like it needed to feed on my soul to survive, but took pleasure it making it a terrifying process.

Purple lights flying around the chandelier. It was cool, interesting and peaceful. Other than that, I don't see things. That was the one and only visual hallucination I ever had in sleep paralysis, other were rather dreams. I sometimes hear someone walking around thinking it's some family member and then when I wake up I realize I'm home alone. The very first time I had it, I was convinced my mom was in the bathroom and then she stood in the door saying something but when I woke up, she was fast asleep, everything was dark and it was after a storm so I heard water dripping from every side and couldn't shake off the feeling someone was actually standing in the door but it was someone who shouldn't be in the house.

My biggest worry while I'm having sleep paralysis is that it's not paralysis and I'm not dreaming but that I actually got stroke and will remain paralyzed for the rest of my life. I had a couple of dreams when I actually got out of my bed but I couldn't control half of my body and my mouth and when I tried talking it was just as like when people with brain damage talk.
@CrazyMusicLover Thanks for the advice . Wonder if I’ll remember to try and do that when and if it returns. I get a little apnea at times also 🤦‍♂️
Why couldn’t I haven just gotten Sexsomnia instead 💁‍♂️
Then again I wouldn’t remember it on awakening anyway 😒. lol

@Iknowyourouttheresomewhere Sexsomnia sounds like something that might bring cause troubles. 😆
@CrazyMusicLover I know and I never heard of it until I researched sleep disorders yesterday 🙆‍♂️. lol

Idk, for me it was just a weird figure and I tensed up so hard my abdomen was sore afterwards

All the times I had sleep paralysis since, I realize what's going on and it's no longer remarkable

I used to have that all the time. I never opened my eyes till recently because I didn’t want to see them. The one I saw was a shadow blob at the edge of my bed. Not very large. Vaguely human-shaped.

they are called shadow people. if you want to learn about them, watch the Dead Files. it will scare the bejesus out of you. they can be evil.

I haven’t had sleep paralysis but I have hypnopompic hallucinations, which may be similar? I’ve seen/felt/heard animals, people I know, and people I don’t know.
Ik this sounds crazy but i was frozen and this like legit horror movie sort of demon tried to suck my soul outa my body she hovered righttt over my face and just starting pulling out this blue smoke from my mouth and i felt like i was gona die idk how i made her go away but i 'woke up' ig

I've never seen anything when I get sleep paralysis, but I've felt the weight of other bodies and heard things and felt "evil presence" for lack of a better word. Actually seeing something would be terrifying.

I've had it consistently since I was born. I see all manner of things. Usually animals with demonic aspects.
