Yep. For bonus points, he prescribed me Gabapentin to help with the pain (it has a gray label use for nerve pain, and it's not addicting, so that part was okay)- and then one day refused to give me a refill without another appointment, at a time when I had no insurance.
Fun fact: one of the withdrawal symptoms of Gabapentin (it's rare, but it DOES happen) is seizures, even in people with no history of epilepsy.
Funner fact: at the time, I was a professional driver.
Luckily, the company was able to accommodate me, and I didn't get fired (and, thankfully, had nothing like a seizure), but it still made a hell of an impression on me.

Most of the last 13 years. It's been hell. I've had some remissions here and there but then ended up very sick again and even succumbing to illness a few times. The last time it happened, it was like my body did a "reset" and some of the issues stopped or lessened and I can lead a much more normal life, but some of the larger issues are still there. They can't really tell me definitively why any.of it began. Only why they think it happened

It’s just so horrible that they don’t do what they’re supposed to and you have to suffer for it. I know chronic pain is no joke.
They ended up putting him in a cast and telling him that it didn’t look as bad as it could. That was a different hospital and they said they couldn’t believe they did that but then again they all screw up like that.
You shouldn’t have to deal with that. I understand you’re not wanting to post something like that.
