@CrazyMusicLover The lush greenness and raised bed gardens are a beautiful setting for them. Those chickens are well fed and healthy. I used to have Rhode Island Reds and thought they were beautiful chickens.

@cherokeepatti Here you don't see such uniform lawns. If they are, it's a sign some chemicals were used to remove other natural plants growing between.

@CrazyMusicLover I have seen them. Chickens have a way of fertilizing the lawns…chicken manure is really strong. I had a garden where chicken pens had been previously and I grew some monster sized squash etc. I didn’t need to put fertilizer on that garden.

@cherokeepatti This is what normally a lawn looks like where poultry is kept here. But maybe in the spring when grass is fresh and there's enough moisture, it can grow that lush and long.


Or this. Lots of plants (weeds) and flowers, daisies, dandelions, clovers..

@CrazyMusicLover When you have a lot of them it can look like that. Let them out for a couple hours and just a few of them probably wouldn’t look that way. And that’s a fenced in chicken yard.
