@Therealsteve The charity does have plenty to be proud of, and we should be proud such charities exist, but I do find the "Pride Movement" all rather self-important.
Campaigns like that should be concentrating on trying to educate cultures in which oppression based on sex and sexual orientation, mysogymy, racism, disability discrimination and religious hatred still fester. Though it would be a hard battle, even dangerous, in many places.
I think the SJAB means it treats anyone injured, and welcomes anyone as members, or trains anyone in first-aid; without immature prejudice; but most services, businesses, charities, clubs etc. act in similarly non-prejudical ways without waving slogans about.
And let's face it, if sporting Pride badges is merely a side-show to saving lives, so is military-style marching: neither activity really matters to treating the injured, but also do no harm.
I am vaguely bisexual but I'd never wear rainbows or go on "Pride" displays. I am just... me!
