@espoir no meningitis. when i was a young physician we lost several children and adolescents to the illness, today it is prevented by a vaccine, and many colleges actually require the vaccine. I love your image, Kohn is wonderful artist.

@espoir how can i convince you? It has been tested for both effectiveness and safety. It has been used for decades with a very good record. The young woman is an example what it prevents.

@samueltyler2 I believe in the ordinary vaccines but not sure about the RNA based vaccinnes. There is a huge difference between them

@espoir first of all, the meningitis vaccine involved in the discussion about that young woman is not an mRNA vaccine, so back off on that. Then before condemning the mRNA vaccines nrs you should read and learn that future trend in vaccine production is going to be mRNA or similar technology, because it is faster and easier to produce such for new emerging diseases, such as Corona virus and influenza. The technology guy as been under development for decades and was fully tested on animals and people, and was ready by be used when it became needed. The COVID vaccine was turn tested for efficacy and safety on more experimental subjects before release than any other modern vaccine or medication. The denials are all nonsense. They are all based on anecdotal evidence that cannot be trusted because it is unvalidated.

@samueltyler2 The mRNA vaccines use a whole different method to work. Why do you think you need more than one vaccine for it to fully cover you. It goes against every principle for true vaccines to work. I know many people who didn't receive the mRna vaccines at all and are perfectly well and healthy. Sorry but your argument is too weak to hold water. It might be all a ruse/scam.

@espoir it is no ruse. I am really in no mood to argue with you now. Certainly not everyone caught the virus, and some who caught it survived. But, you really seem to be blind to the data concerning the over 3 million people worldwide who died from COVID, the millions who are sufferring Ng from the long term effects of the disease, the problem ven efficacy of the vaccine. What do you know of how it's effectiveness is "against every principle of true vaccines?" That is total nonsense anti-science propaganda.

@samueltyler2 Can you say that 3 vaccines are needed to protect an individual? Why won't one work? Why do you have to make people immune to the disease with a vaccine ? Can't humans protect them selves using their own immune system to work. I know too many people who have rejected the vaccine ( only RNA ones) . If you can prove that it takes 3 inoculations instead of one to me then I'll believe you. What is that you say? you can't? Well then it's fake vaccine and I'm sticking to not getting it. They can try to force me but I will never take it. You need your head examined to think it works

@espoir you are being foolish. Do you really want to be educated, or am i wasting my time? Has the far right, or whoever so convenient need you that no amount of scientific explanation will change your attitude?

You do understand that immunity natural or otherwise is somewhat time limited. We have been giving booster doses of what you call standard vaccines ever since the first vaccination by humans. Every vaccine! How many Tetanus shots have you and everyone else had, the same for diphtheria, polio, you name it.

You do understand the concept of viral serotypes, and mutation? That antibodies produced in a body may be more effective for a specific type, thus a new vaccine produced for the new type. That has been the case every year for the influenza vaccine. Do you understand that every infection is an indication that the virus is reproducing, and with each reproduction, the vaccine has an opportunity to mutate?

Have you seen the data by populations, counties, states, countries showing that the risk for infection and complications and or deaths in the unvaccinated population is almost an order of magnitude higher than that of the vaccinated?

You have the right to refuse vaccination, but realize that not only are you places Ng yourself at risk, but if you get infected, you risk infecting others that may even be more vulnerable than you, and thus you might be reasons blue for that person getting very sick, or even dying.

To quote you, you have to be out of your mind to ignore the weight of science and go without a vaccination.

@samueltyler2 Firstly, I belong to no right wing group or any Group. Thank you but I have a masters degree in Science( not biology) I understand the working of a vaccine in all cases. I have made a conscience decision not to get a vaccine and I have taken all precautions(masks etc) to protect others if I do catch it. I use my own immune system to combat the virus if I catch it and I am a firm believer in Herd immunity . So stop wasting your time trying to convince of what I already know about RNA vaccines. Go preach to the unconverted. I will never and I will never die either from COVID either way. I am living proof that I am right about what I say. So stop with your nonsense and try not to place with any of your groups that you mention and assume I am one of them.

@espoir i spent my career in public health and in new drug development. So don't call me a preacher of disinformation or whatever term you used. You need to go back and relearn your biology. I will stop wasting my time on you, since you admit you can't be convinced, you don't deserve my attempt at educating you. Good luck.

@samueltyler2 Thank you for trying to educate me, but I know enough already. I never done biology in University so I don't need to refresh it. You have tried to discredit my education by assuming I was a right wing activist. I think you should apologise for assuming many falsehoods about me. Failing that you should keep your opinions private to yourself although I know you were only trying to save my life from COVID . Thanks for your time. Goddbye

@espoiri do apologize if I called you a right wing IND vidual. the most vocal anti-scientfic ones, the most vocal ones, those claiming they know more that the scientists, claiming crazy things about COVID, are almost exclusively right wing. I was not trying to save your life, I was trying to counter the nonsense you wrote about vaccines, in an effort to educate anyone trading this thread.

@samueltyler2 Thank you for the apology and not trying to save me from Covid. You think because you worked at Medical research that it makes you right? Think again. I have an opinion which is just as valid as yours. I have done my research too. I don't care who follows this thread , all I know there is a lot more we don't know about RNA vaccines and you AND me are them too. So I appreciate your Doctor qualifications and I respect your Opinion but I would respect you accepting mine too.

@espoir yours is an opinion based on lack of science, mine is my interpretation of tombs of scientific opinion. So science versus no science! You can take your decision and live with it.

@samueltyler2 I use science to tell about the world. There you go again, assuming things about me. I use science to tell me all about RNA vaccines and how they work. But I suppose you already know everything. So STOP assuming. Start understanding that there are people out there who might not agree with with you and they have an Opinion. Remember having no tolerance to others opinion makes your a bigot. And you are the worst kind I have met so far. SO accept my Scientific Opinion or be the bigot you already are. I'm sure I'm not the first to offer another advice to a bigot like you
