This is a beautiful picture!

We had two drive-ins in this city when it had half the population it does now. One was by the river on the south side and it was a slap fest all summer due to the mosquitoes unless they sprayed DDT recently before you went.
@cherokeepatti hahaha exactly! Yes I remember the old noisy mosquito bombers that would drive through each aisle and we would roll up the windows until they were finished. The mosquitoes were horrible. But they did help with that machine but boy was it stinky. Hahaha

Thank you, that was a great time!! Reminiscing the smell of the concession stand, I can still smell it.
Oh, remember not only the teens behind the building missing the show, the lad that was lucky enough to have dad let him take his girlfriend to the show in the station wagon??

@Quimliqer yes, I can still smell that aroma that lingered through the whole Drive-In from that concession stand. Hahaha
And it was so much fun, sitting out under the stars and don't forget the old mosquito bomb guy who would come through the parking lot up and down before the movie started. Hahaha I also remember enjoying the looking back at the lights from the movie screen stream through the air. It was just the coolest thing ever. Did you roller skate back in those days? I loved going to the roller rink! Right by my house!

We had 3 drive-ins in Pensacola. The Ranch, it had a neon cowboy roping a steer. Twin-Air has 2 separate screens, you go either to the right or left, depending on the movie you want to see and Showtime was the 3rd one
@Anothermrsockmonkey yeah that was fun and also I loved so much smelling the aroma through the air from the popcorn stand!
I also loved the cool speakers that you hooked on your window in the car. They were really great with no static or anything. Now I'm wanting to go to one again haha

@LadyGrace i miss those times. Turn off your headlights, pull over the hump, adjust your car to where its best to see the screen ,take the speaker, hook it on the window. I can smell the popcorn, but line is long. Lol
@Anothermrsockmonkey INDEED!!! I MISS THOSE TIMES TOO. THOSE WERE THE GREATEST!

Is it followed somewhere even now or it is out of the vogue nowadays?
TheOrionbeltseeker · 36-40, M
@LadyGrace I saw it in a movie. From there, I got the idea.
@TheOrionbeltseeker If you ever get a chance to come to America someday, I hope you will be able to experience that.
@TheOrionbeltseeker Actually there's a drive-in about 45 minutes away from me.
Sojournersoul · M
It is still there and have two screens now. You listen over your car radio now.
@Sojournersoul What??!! The one in Belleville is still there? I'm shocked you know this.
Sojournersoul · M
@LadyGrace Still there and use to life in the area
@Sojournersoul Oh wow. That's about 30 miles from me haha thanks for letting me know that

There are still four drive-in theaters within 15 miles from here.
TheOrionbeltseeker · 36-40, M
@Atlotto From here. 15 miles from which place is what I was asking.
Atlotto · M
