Wow! It looks a little funny, but they are amazing!

I'm from the West Coast, but I have been to Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens in Columbia, South Carolina. Went there in May 2016 and December 2018. I love to play around imitating the siamang gibbons there at the zoo, I like to mimic them when they make vocalizations like "Ooohoohoohoohoo!". Sorry I'm like a little kid. LOL. I'm really almost 50 years old, but I have Classic Autism and ADHD, so I'm more like a 4 1/2 year old emotionally and socially. Love the siamangs. I also really love Upstate South Carolina (Greenville / Spartanburg area). Such sweet and kind people, not unlike me actually. I used to be an assistant volunteer co-host at Preschooler Storytime at one of my local libraries for 15+ years (helping my now retired 67 year old children's librarian friend and I did my siamang gibbon monkey imitations every time we did "Five Little Monkeys Swinging From A Tree". The 3-5 year olds absolutely loved it! Haha

Beautiful and alluring, I never tire of all that nature has to offer.

great image, did you take it?
mossyboots · 51-55, F
@samueltyler2 No, I never read who it was. I'm not familiar with that place, have you been before? What is it like?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@mossyboots We have been going there since the early 1990s. We have 2 weeks of time shares there. We used to go with our kids then grand kids. This year the timing didn't work out for them, so we are going with friends. We spent 3 weeks there a couple of years ago in late January into Feb and had a ball. So we are hopeful this time will be the same.

I love Upstate South Carolina more than the Midlands and the coast. Charleston is nice, and I love Mount Pleasant, but I love Upstate SC more, around Greenville, or more down closer to Mauldin / Simpsonville and Fountain Inn. I'm actually from California, in the Bay Area. I'm also a big Clemson Tigers fan. I'm almost 50, but I have Classic Autism and ADHD. My emotional and social age is more like 4 1/2 years old. Been to Clemson too several times. I've been to Isle of Palms with my parents, my dad driving. Never been to Seabrook or Kiawah Island. Never been to Fripp Island either, near Beaufort, but heard good things about it. I have a friend who has a 6 year old grandson with Autism too, she is from Sumter, but she spends a lot of time in Edisto Island where she and her husband have a beach home. She's actually my age. I have also known parents from SC who have taken their little kids to Hilton Head to the golf course. There's a lighthouse at Harbour Towne Golf Links there. I also have a friend who is a mom who is one year older than me who has an Autistic son who is 12 years old who has a Facebook blog (her other 3 kids are over 18 now); actually she's pretty well known. She lives in Edenton, North Carolina, but that's far from South Carolina, in the Inner Banks, an hour from the Outer Banks and also about an hour south of Norfolk, Virginia.
