I'm going to dig out my old enlarger and bring it back to life

Since my 12 year grandchild has taken such a big interest in film photography. I thought she might like having it. She has been using my modern enlarger and my Elwood enlarger from the 1910. But I think it's time she gets the work with the 1940s Russian made Enlarger

Dang. It!!!

I missed the group that this was posted in and corrupted my own poor innocence!!! 😭😭🤯

What did you do
@HumanEarth Umm... let's just say that when I read about your enlarger - this wasn't what came to mind.

In my defence... this is SW...

I shot a lot of film in the old days and had a darkroom. Are supplies still easy to get?

It's all mail order now, unless you live in a giant city like New York. But you can still buy 35mm color film at Walgreens, CVS and Walmart

But I buy 120 and larger films and make my own for the old tin type and glass plate cameras of the 1800s and early 1900s

Very cool. Is she responsible?
HumanEarth · F
Very much so

@HumanEarth Good to hear!
What are you teaching her? Nuclear engineering???
HumanEarth · F
No, Film photography and how to make paper prints. Well she pretty much already knows hows, but going have her help me restore this old this with me and then give it to her
Nice one. My Grandfather had a professional camera set and darkroom equipment for decades that was worth at least $15,000, I think one zoom lens he used for the drag strip as their official photographer from the 50's to the 80's alone was worth $2,500. A year after he died my grandmother sold EVERYTHING to a community college photography instructor for ONLY 500 FUCKING DOLLARS 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
@HumanEarth Then the estate handler did a piss poor job and should have been arrested and charged for failure to properly execute your Grandfather's will.

Too late now, that was 40 years ago
@HumanEarth Everyone failed You :(
