Scarlet Pages of Deceit

Mary lay motionless on her bed, her crimson locks spread like a macabre halo around her head. Clad in nothing but lingerie, her body was a stark contrast to the innocence of the novels she adored. The only company she had in her final moments was the book she was reading, its pages forever frozen in time, a silent witness to her demise. A pair of delicate glasses were placed meticulously atop the open book, evidently belonging to the victim, as if mocking Mary's passion for literature. Each lens reflected the cold, unforgiving truth of her fate.

Caught between heaven and hell,
My soul I am unwilling to sell,

Books and pages filling memories within my thinking mind,
Seeking a sign as I rest and unwind,

A fate never cast in stone,
For one’s thoughts often drift to distant places when I’m left alone,

Resting and reflecting on a life filled with passion and drive,
Dreaming my life away but content to be alive…..

He put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall...
🤪😎
