Lens advice / review

Do any SW chums have any experience of the Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD lens? I've just bought one and it's due to arrive next week. I shoot a Nikon D7100 and I'm looking to use it on a trip to an erupting volcano in Iceland early next year.

Anyone used this lens before? Saw a review online and the bloke said it was better than the equivalent Nikon lens
