My camera kept capturing the moon differently from one click to the next. And I kinda dug it trying to learn its surface and the space around it.

Astrophotographers have a rule for taking photos of the moon (it’s more of a guideline really) called Looney 11. The idea is that if you set your aperture to f/11, the correct shutter speed will be the reciprocal of the ISO. In other words, if your aperture is set to f/11 and your ISO is set to 100, your shutter speed will be 1/100; if your ISO is 400, the shutter speed is 1/400.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart I agree that the last one is a good shot of the moon, but the appearance of the sky and the framing of the foliage just tipped it for me to the second to last picture when I was trying to chose THE one picture. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

@SW-User Nighttime shooting can be like that. Used to have such a time trying to get the manual settings right on my DSLR to try to capture it decently.
