A good Question

So, how would you like to meet this little guy up close and personal?
SW-User
He's beautiful. But hell naw. Admire from a distance.
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@SW-User I was far enough away. He was laying down, got up and started to eat a small tree. Didn't want to get any closer! 😮
I'd prefer to admire him from a distance... 🤷‍♀️
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@HootyTheNightOwl I was about 40 feet away and up on a hill
CantExplain · 61-69, M
I was as leery of walking into a bull moose while going through heavy willows along rivers in Wyoming as walking into a bear...
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@CantExplain I can believe that
Northwest · M
I was up close, real close once. I was staying at a lodge in Eastern Washington, and a few of them were strolling by, right outside my window. I think they're used to people, because they acted like it's no big deal.

One other time, I was driving, again in Washington state, and saw one of them trying to mount a Holstein cow in a field, but that cow was having of it, she kept slipping out and running. The farmer was running out to the field...
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@Northwest They do say do not get too close to them in the wild. After seeing his size I can believe it
Northwest · M
@ReneeT I used to see them from a distance in British Columbia while hiking, on regular basis. But up close, you really appreciate how large they are.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
No thanks!! Did you?
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@ReneeT I was in a boat when I took a close up of a wild elephant. I didn't have a zoom lens!! I was ready for a quick get away too!
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@SweetMae They are nice to look at but you always hope you don't provoke them
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@ReneeT Exactly!!
SW-User
So cute
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@SW-User He had just finished eating a small tree!
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
I’ve been fairly close to a moose....but he was on the other side of a fence. Wouldn’t want to be that close without a fence.
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@DragonFruit I did take it with a zoom lens. But he was probably 40 feet away. I was up on a hill
If I really had to come closer, I'd prefer it to be with a shotgun, just in case. But my main preference by far would be to enjoy it from a distance.
Fauxmyope2 · 26-30, F
We have plenty up here in New England. My area is mooseless though.
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@Fauxmyope2 I know that some are north of where I am but this was the first time I saw one this close
Fauxmyope2 · 26-30, F
@ReneeT I have never see one other than in a zoo.
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@Fauxmyope2 They are pretty majestic
zork0000 · 56-60, M
The only thing that survives a charging moose is a locomotive
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@zork0000 I would think the locomotive might get a bit damaged
Jessmari · 41-45
Met a few. Used to feed them Doritos as a kid.
Wiseacre · F
I wouldnt...only from a distance!
Eternity · 26-30, M
That's no moon...
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@Eternity ?🤷‍♀️
