I Love Nature and Wildlife Photography

I finally took my new Nikon D7200 and Tamaron 150-600 D2 lens out to play a bit and get to know the setup. I have a lot to learn with this camera but I like what I see so far..

I have the NIKON D-3400, though I wish (and I might return to the D5000) and I have the NIKON 70-300mm Lens that was part of the kit. Like you-got to get into the camera manual, but I can't stand them-so I ordered the NIKON D3400 for DUMMIES! And the image you see under my moniker-"grabbed" off a large Screen TV in a no-flash setting.

@soar2newhighs I switch back and forth between a Pentax K3 and the D7200. Both are impressive with extensive customization menus. My advice is to just sit while watching TV and play. Determine what menus are important to you and how to get there. I use the “vivid” picture setting and bump contrast and sharpness up.

Another trick is focus fine tuning on some camera models. Each lens has a sweet spot. Get a yardstick, place it going away from you, place an object at some point, and take a picture. Zoom in and look where the focus is sharpest. Then adjust fine focus to be just at or just in front of the object. Enjoy!
Thanks for the advice-I'll po
st some shots I've taken, and yes the VI is very nice, but sometimes a bit overpowering.@Livingwell

@soar2newhighs Very nice. I agree vivid can be a bit much. It’s less harsh on the Pentax. I have to tone it down with the Nikon.

Nice shots! I have a Nikon D5300, and I’ve hardly learned the basics of what it can do. I keep telling myself I need to take a course to learn more, and someday never comes. I also like to capture bird pics. The few times I’ve managed to get a great shot, the images from that camera are stunning. 👍️

@CCMorgan That’s awesome. Just play. It cost’s nothing to delete. You’ll find you only use a few of all the menu’s available. Have fun!

Nice pictures. I like the D7200 and hope to pick one up used some day. Wish I had someone local who enjoyed going out on picture taking treks :) Photography is so much fun.
