can anyone give reassurance about my computer files

[c=BF0080][i]last year on my windows 7 desktop computer, i attempted to 'move' some pictures jpgs, off my desktop to a media folder, but when i chose move to this specific media folder, it said something like ' this location already contains these files, do you wish to cancel? ' i regrettably chose cancel and the files i was trying to move vanished from my desktop but never went in that media folder i don't think.......do you think i lost all those precious pictures i was trying to move? or are they still on my computer somewhere? it was about 500 pictures i attempted to move...they were very precious to me the files, so i'm hoping i never lost them..

i know in future i should choose 'copy' instead of move, but i didn't realize at the time.. thanks.[/i][/c]
