I keep seeing stories about Microsoft

And how they're pushing notifications to upgrade to Windows 11.

I have a question: What if I don't have money to buy a new computer?

My current computer doesn't have TPM, and Windows 11 requires TPM.

Does that mean I would need to move to a different OS when support ends October 2025?

No. Your computer will continue to work after support ends. It just won't get many updates.

I have a Win98 machine running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at home. It works perfectly and hasn't been updated in twenty years.
@ninalanyon I'd give anything, within reason, to have another Win98SE machine, just so I can run my After Dark screen saver CD ROM again.

@NativePortlander1970 There are plenty of machines capable of running Win98SE available on Ebay, Craigslist, GumTree, etc., for a 100 USD or less. Huge numbers for less than 250 USD.
@ninalanyon I have looked in the past on ebay, they really didn't have anything then, never heard of gumtree, and I'd never trust anything from craigslist or fb marketplace

@NativePortlander1970 Gumtree is a UK online trading site.
