technically is this computer upgrade straight forward

[c=003BB2]i still use windows 7 and i will very soon have to upgrade because certain google chrome extensions won't work or be available unless i have the latest version of the chrome browser...so my plan was to upgrade my computer to windows 10, but also get a dual operating system boot, so i have windows 7 and windows 10 together.

it's going to be hell because i'm going to have to take my computer into the computer shop near me for the upgrade, and this is my only computer, my main computer so i will be without a computer for a period of time and just have my smartphone.

i just want to know will this upgrade i want be simple and straight forward and i'll have my computer back soon?

i don't know what i will do without my computer and not being online...it will be hard and i'll have a lot of empty time on my hands.

i'm thinking if i get a dual boot up, i won't lose all my important files on my windows 7 computer and can always go back to it if i need to.[/c]

I'd backup my data on an external drive,I asked the computer shop to do it and they lost 70% of it. I rebooted my Win 7 from an HP image..I'd search online ,if there is one you'll find it on youtube

Why are you taking your PC to a computer shop, in order to upgrade your Windows? You don't need to do that.

I'm going to sleep now, but I just wanted to say that it's very easy to purchase and install the operating system yourself. It's not difficult to keep your Windows 7 at the same time either, you should just look it up online. It won't take very long. If you have a phone, you can even watch or read a guide while installing it, otherwise write the steps down in a notebook. Remember to backup your files first, perhaps transfer your most precious files to a USB stick or extra hardrive or SSD.
