Yeah, you can choose your own desktop wallpaper from your own pictures. My thing is, I prefer having a taskbar and start menu that is easy for me to navigate.
The windows 10 start menu is filled with those squares, and on the taskbar, next to the clock, there is a temperature for weather, news, notifications, I disabled all of that.
I found an open source program called Open-Shell, you can make your start menu look like Windows 7. For me, I'm still used to simplicity, so I made my start menu look like it's from Windows 95, and I couldn't be happier with it.
