Why do icons on the taskbar appear and disappear?
In windows 10 Pro, next to the clock are several icons. There's a speaker icon, a VIA HD Audio Deck icon (that's for my onboard sound), Nvidia, Network Settings, etc. I have Malwarebytes Premium. The day before yesterday a message popped up saying that Malwarebytes wasn't protecting my PC. This is strange because it starts up with the PC. Yesterday it was fine.
Today, there is no Malwarebytes icon on the taskbar, but going into Windows Security under Virus and Threat Protection, it says this:
Malwarebytes
Malwarebytes is turned on.
Current Threats
✅No actions needed.
Protection Settings
✅No actions needed.
Protection Updates
✅No actions needed.
Open App.
I know in the past on Windows 7 Pro and on XP, there would always be the occasional, missing icon for a program that was running. Funny thing is that in the list of icons to show on the taskbar, Malwarebytes isn't even listed. Another weird thing is my printer has a program called HP Digital Imaging. It shows your ink levels. Well I have that turned to OFF in the settings for icons to show on taskbar, yet it's on the taskbar.
Can anyone explain this to me please?? I am at a loss right now.
