Question about Operating Systems. Is Linux far superior to Windows, or is that just something some people exaggerate about?

I've never used Linux of any kind, just Windows, but have had people in the past tell me how great Linux is and far superior and far more secure

I use ubuntu and fadora. I like them both. I am sliwly learning to use the command lines as needed. Linux is so mu h easier in the long run.
