Question about Operating Systems. Is Linux far superior to Windows, or is that just something some people exaggerate about?

I've never used Linux of any kind, just Windows, but have had people in the past tell me how great Linux is and far superior and far more secure

linux you can customize to your needs at a level close to basic settings. windows does not give you these possibilities in an open form.
