The browser ecosystem often rewards survivability over diagnosability.

Which is Core to my growing Hatred of JavaScript. Independently I've decided since Mozilla seems keen to allow us to manipulate the DOM without JavaScript Glue code and to get Web Assembly up to being a 1st class Citizen on the Browser and key members of Firefox staff like Ryan Hunt who I now admire for this are trying to Improve WebAssembly Dramatically.
https://hacks.mozilla.org/2026/02/making-webassembly-a-first-class-language-on-the-web/ my determination as an announcement is that it is simply better to wait for WebAssembly as a Platform to improve until the JavaScript Glue code is obsolete to resume learning web development.
As a developer I utterly despise JavaScript. I just can't get over it, I could rip into it for days on end. I love to hate on it. and It's not me wanting to belong to the "Cool kid JavaScript Haters" club I don't really care to "Fit in." I just hate it.
The way JavaScript doesn't fail fast and it destroys Error locality because of it is just a nightmare I never want to have to be responsible for maintaining.
And Truthfully I really hate The Available debugging Software with JavaScript as it often is exclusive to the browser as I'd like to do it on the command line completely independently of any Web Browser like we do with GDB.
So why do I hate it so? So flexible, So convenient. Write once run anywhere. How utopian.

It's because no matter how skilled you are eventually you're going to by the sheer nature of just being human and humans making mistakes introduce a bug in your software and JavaScript makes Diagnosising those bugs much more difficult than it needs to be and especially compared to languages that were written with intention.

The web deserves a Programming language Written with Intention by intelligent parties.

Brandon Eich isn't dumb, but, Brandon Eich was put in a back room at netscape when he made JavaScript and he threw it together in 11 days not realizing the way things would shake out.

Shame on Mozilla and Chrome for dragging t heir Heels on WebAssembly however and allowing this to happen. The Web Browsers deserve the biggest chunk of the blame because if they had made their browsers understand other languages far sooner JavaScript never would have matured into this as even if people had Tried to use it those interested in other languages would have made so many Web Apps that we would have won the competition simply because ours would be faster and more reliable and easier to Debug.

It's not just the maker's of the browsers. There is such a thing as international standards (ECMA now) that is apart of the problem. More so than any of the browsers now.

Your as well forgeting what happened when MS was in the equation. They all fought over JS features totally ignoring the international standards. Mozilla was just as guilty as MS and the others (Opera and Dolphin browsers).

There was a reason why there was js code to just determine the browser and version of the browser just so you could switch the HTML page for the appropriate js code.

They all fought the darn international standards.
