Depends what you're watching and doing. If you're just doing the usual games and content then 720p is more than you need. It's really the professionals like architects and designers who need the higher functionality. Hence why the phones are priced high as we are the people with the salaries to drop money on such devices.

above 1080p it's hard to tell the diff.
2340 x 1080 pixels, 19.5 ratio, 422 PPI = huge battery drain
Samsung give you the option to turn it down to 1080 X 1080
