Some people just use the gym to look at their phones.
Yesterday I was at the gym before work like I do every day. I have a regular routine I do and when I got to my last machine, there was an elderly man sitting on it looking at his phone. I waited and he still sat there on his phone. So I left without finishing my normal routine.
Today I go to the gym and when it comes time to do that one machine, here’s the same elderly man on the same machine, just sitting there playing on his phone.
This time I walked up to him and politely asked “ sir, are you going to be using this machine much longer?”
He did apologize and jumped up saying “ oh, I am just using it to be on my phone!”
