Matrix Bridge Temporary Shutdown, a Retrospective

I don't use libera any more than whenever I have a Linux related issue that I can't figure out and yet maybe the community can help
And I am an IRC user.

But I have no end of dumb arguments with other hackers about this, and I'll just say it.
The lack of features on IRC is the killer feature.
The fact that I can be in thousands of channels without a massive hit to my RAM is why I'm on there all the time and not so much Discord.
Those are some nasty issues with matrix.
Although i'd fire back at the people like "because it's what you grew up with." I did, but the fact is that IRC has not been resource intensive for 2 decades. Why we love it is that it's not a big drain on our system even if we're in literally thousands of channels. Try that shit with discord, where it's easy to do.
