I made the switch for a second time

To Linux. Well, I did this several years ago back when Windows 7 was nearing its end of support, but at that time I had no one helping me, didn't really know what to do, only one of my games worked very poorly, so I ended up moving back over to seven and then upgraded to win 10.

Because of Microsoft's ridiculous hardware requirements for Windows 11, just a simple operating system, that was my main reason for making the jump, because my computer does not have the hardware to run the operating system, and no I'm not going to use Rufus to try and get around it. But then, tack on forced updates and your personal sensitive data being screenshotted every 5 minutes as well, I'm just done.

I told my friend, I said, this time around I have someone helping me that knows what they're doing and if it takes me 6 months, if it takes me a year to get my games working, I will wholeheartedly sit through it, learn and understand how everything works, just to get away from Microsoft and their ridiculous antics.

You give them your money and they care about you and once they have your money you mean nothing to them. And besides, I didn't realize monopolies were legal all of a sudden 🤔

I switched to Linux over a decade ago now and it's one of the best decisions I ever made ditching Windows..

So which Linux distro are you using twiigss?🙂

@AdaXI I switched over to Linux mint 22.2. I'm still customizing and figuring things out, but I like it and thanks to proton my games work.

But I don't think many people would agree with my customization lol

@twiigss I'm currently using Linux Minx as well. I decided that would probably be the best system all round for a couple of older PCs I bought cheap earlier this year. Like yours they can't be naturally upgraded to Windows 11 but they work fine for what I need.

Anyway I'm glad to hear you've got your games working this time around T. It's not something I use mine for but I know it's always been one of the bigger problems with switching to Linux over the years.

@AdaXI thank you. As long as you have proton installed, that seems to be the ticket for getting all the games to work. And maybe not every single game but for the most part so far all the games I've installed are working with the use of proton.
