I Like Linux

Oops. I think I responded to some really old stuff. I've been using Linux forever so always happy to assist with questions. I don't like "What version of linux is best" or "What should I install". It's a personal preference.

whats so good about linux. y do ppl rave about it
@SW-User It's free, it's stable, and it's secure. You don't have to wait a month for updates like with Windows. It's got a great development environment, and pretty much any tool you'll ever need easily obtainable. There's a great support network for your chosen distribution, it's not a memory or CPU hog like Windows. You can run some Linux distros in under a gigabyte of memory and they'll perform perfectly well on a single CPU, leaving more power for userland programs and processes. It's stable. With the latest RHEL releases, you can do online kernel updates which don't require reboots. We have some linux boxes our customers use that haven't been rebooted in over 10 years. They just keep on going. It's also highly customizable...which can also be its downfall sometimes.
