The wife says we need a second laptop.

Our current one is an HP so I want to stay in the Windows platform. What brand should we go with and what features should it have? She is a writer so there won't be any gaming.

If she's a writer she should choose the machine. No matter which she chooses get her a wireless keyboard and mouse.

@Musicman computer.? All the writers I know prefer a MacBook. The keyboard and mouse are cheap and easy to get. Just plug in the dongle and go !
