When you get very different AI results depending on the language you use in Google:

🤦🏻‍♀😅

First is translated, second is searched directly in English. I searched "TPU sole in winter"

So...is it good or not? 😅

I think the problem is that there will be lots of literature in the databases that were used to build the large language models that contain very similar sentences but some refer to thermoplastic polyurethane and others to polyurethane. Because they are similar they get mixed up and the LLM hallucinates things that don't exist.

A quick DDG search for TPU sole in winter found this page:
TPU: Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) emerged in response to the poor performance of polyurethane in cold conditions. By adding rubber to the urethane compound, the soles were able to remain more pliable in cold conditions. The mixture allowed for improved performance, and weighed less than rubber or nitrile soles.

But for this kind of question I would always supplement a general web search or the results of asking an LLM with a search on Wikipedia. Wikipedia has an article on TPU: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoplastic_polyurethane. The article is not one of the best but does contain links to useful supplementary data.

@ninalanyon Thanks. I thought it just throws whatever it found on the sellers' webpages according to what they intended to sell. 😆

@CrazyMusicLover LLM generated blurb on trading sites is best ignored totally in my opinionated opinion. The people who use such things do not do any editing or quality control. In fact you are probably best advised not to buy any of the products either because they are probably no better at quality control and assurance of the product than they are of the blurb.
