Today is the day my husbands business. Updated

Could come to a complete halt because he's run out of server space. He says that there is such a high demand for servers that the price is unaffordable and may not even be available. He said that even the price of old servers is going up. . My explanation is over simplified here, because it's over my head, but I know the crux of the issue is limited server space. He's hired someone to help but I don't know if they can succeed. We're holding on to hope and "staying alive". Send us a wishful prayer.

Update: we found something like a lease on a server and get to stay in business for another year at the very least! Technology is over my head! Thanks for reading/replying

No doubt it's a solemn, anxious day for both of you.
I'm so sorry.
I wish there were more I could offer than simply thoughts, and prayer.
...sigh 😞 🫂

Expanding server space for a home business is best done by choosing between a cloud virtual private server (VPS) for remote access or a plug-and-play Network Attached Storage (NAS) device for local data.

Choosing Your Storage Path
• Cloud Hosting (VPS): Services like AWS, DigitalOcean, or Linode start around $5 a month and work best if your customers need constant, direct internet access to your business tools.
• Network Attached Storage (NAS): A dedicated multi-bay NAS box (such as options from Asustor or Synology) connects right to your home router and gives you massive local capacity—often starting at tens of terabytes—without ongoing monthly subscription costs.
• DIY Tower Server: Building a simple PC tower with an operating system like TrueNAS or Ubuntu Server offers high customizability on a budget, but requires more manual setup and maintenance.

Best Practices for Growing In-House Space
• Prioritize Drive Bays: Choose hardware with empty drive bays so you can add more hard drives later instead of replacing the entire unit.
• Plan for Redundancy: Use a RAID setup or paired matching hard drives so that if one drive fails, your business data stays safe.
• Protect Your Setup: Plug your equipment into an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to prevent data corruption during sudden power drops.

That’s exactly the reason Mother Nature is nurturing the clouds 🙂

I hope you guys find a solution. ☹

@TheHammer he has found a solution that will last at least one year with additional licenses. He's not stressed like I am, so I'm trying not to stress. Technology! It's like the new real estate in the business world. So we're good for now. 😬

And so it goes.

@RedBaron do me it's one moment at a time. Things are still chugging along. I hope these "patches" will work. But yes, so it goes...

AWS (Amazon Web Services) has as much server space as you want. Same with Google Cloud and Microsoft cloud.

Not sure what you mean he ran out of server space.
