Yeah I've had mine for a long time so I'm getting a $5K PC for my bday in April

I just got mine but damn 5k jeebus.

That thing gonna be purty *gets moist* you're gonna show it otf ya 😨👀
@lizzie: How the heck does one even go past $2k to begin with? When building my computer I was specifically focusing on the best parts I could get as I had cash to throw away and it was still under $2k.

Running a:

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700k CPU @ 4.20GHz (8CPUs), ~4.2GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 1070
Mem: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3200
HDD: 6TB WD Black
MB: ASUS RGB LGA1151 DDR4
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 1050w
Case: Corsair Graphite Series 760T Full Tower Windowed Case - White
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 liquid CPU cooler
Misc: An inatech PCI-E to 5 ports of USB 3.0, a LG WH16NS40 16x blueray rewriter, and a Samsung 960 EVO Series - 500GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V6E500BW)

I do virtual reality gaming, as well as my main profession of game development on it.

Unless you're buying it all pre-built, in which case that's the absolute worst way to go when it comes to making a proper gaming PC.

I suppose I could have bought two additional GTX 1070s but that would have been, totally unnecessary; and only racked up an additional $748 or so as each card is only about $374 right now.

@TeirdalinShadowfall: I'd never buy a pre-built PC thats stupid. Thats okay specs for an under $2k pc i guess.
@lizzie: What in the world are you even using your computer for? :P

And what specs are you using; as you're clearly not using it for gaming; as there literally are no games out there currently with requirements anywhere close to the overpowered nonsense I'm running at the moment as developers just plain don't aim the requirements that high, not even in virtual reality gaming (Although that's not really saying much for the current VR market.) nor with running games with crazy mods as generally modders still need their product to be able to run on their computer to begin with.

Infact, all program limitations fail at a certain point before the hardware will even with mods; an example being running M&B with about 1k units on the field at once.

Although if you're using it for 3D design, I suppose you can get smoother control when moving thousands of vertices at once; which is the main reason I built a new PC to begin with; using the vive and rift with it was just a bonus.

Especially if you're focusing on crappy console-ported mainstream games which your previous posts suggest; as those are watered down in comparison to games which were made with PC gaming in mind. Only reason you may need that much nonsense is if you're running them in VR using VorpX, and on the highest possible resolution the program can handle with 3D reconstruction, and 8k textures.

@TeirdalinShadowfall: I have it so I can play games in max graphics and smoothness and I use photoshop and Sony Vegas Pro and the like
@lizzie: Do you use steam? :)

@TeirdalinShadowfall: yh y?
Just curious, I'd suggest subscribing to humble-bundle monthly; last month they had total war: warhammer as the big game with it, and like two months before that was vermintide with a few expansions; it's always worth it.
