Help - Computer problem

I just found an old Dell computer that belonged to my daughter. She passed away 6 years ago. I can plug it in and turn it on, but I have no clue as to what her password would be.
Is there anyway for me to change and/or reset her password so I can get into it?

You could force a factory reset.

Go to the Windows sign-in screen, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, click the Power icon in the bottom-right corner, and choose Restart while still holding Shift.

Keep holding Shift until a blue options menu appears.

Reset this pc
Remove everything to clear the lock and wipe the system.

All you need is to make a linux live bootable flash drive, boot from it, and choose live (not install, that will wipe out what you want)

You can see the files using the file browser that's included

Also, you can instead download the most recent hiren's bootcd and make a bootable flash drive of it and then use the included password utilities to blank the password or set the password

You can do that with linux live also actually but it's on a command line, where the one included with Hiren's Bootcd is graphical and almost too simple to mess up

I'm a computer and network technician, resetting customer passwords is level 1 :-)

Computer repair shops would be able to help, if it is a windows pc with microsoft account they can provide access if you report your situation to them.

are you trying to view the contents of her computer? pictures and things like that?

which version of windows?
