Look carefully at it, say soothing things. DO NOT throw it against the wall or step on it. DO NOT say mean things to it or swear loudly or with threatening tones. DO NOT pick up a hammer and raise it over your head, with your eyes blazing and a grizzled mad look on your face. Be kind, rub it gently, try another USB port and if that fails, drop it in the bin and FORGET ABOUT IT. It is just a thing, you don't really need it, it isn't hurting you at all, nope, it's all good.
