Can't Believe There Are Counterfeit Thermal Paste

I bought Arctic MX-4 (4g) thermal paste off Amazon from a third party seller called Aero Malls, but the shipping is fulfilled by Amazon. There were some reviews claiming that the thermal paste they got was counterfeit after scanning the QR code on the packaging. I then went into a deep dive and many people on Reddit, TechPowerUp, Tom's Hardware, and other forums complained about that issue. I can understand people making fakes of CPUs, GPUs, RAM, PSUs, SSDs, HDDs, etc., but to counterfeit thermal paste is a new low.

That's the gamble purchasing products online. You never know what you're really getting till it arrives.

@Sapio nah not really, it's more so because Arctic is a popular brand; Amazon is quite trustworthy for buying electronic goods, as long as you buy it directly from Amazon or it's shipped by them. I wouldn't trust sites like NewEgg, Temu, Wish, eBay, or AliExpress though. AliExpress and NewEgg are reputable sites, but the former not when it comes to hardware components and the latter they just have bad business practices after they got bought out by a Chinese company. I'm sure everyone knows how fake Wish and eBay are.

@uikakarotuevegeta I trust Temu more than Newegg, they at least ship on time and don't try to deny refund/reimbursement on lost/damaged items
