So I figured out what happened to my computer

Yesterday I replaced my heatsink, after that my PC wouldn't boot right, like everything was going to pot. And apparently, this whole time, the RAM went bad. So I have dual-channel RAM, each RAM stick is 8GB. So my PC says I have 32GB installed, but only 24GB useable. SO, to me it means that all 4 RAM slots are seeing all 4 chips, but it's not recognizing one of the 8GB RAM sticks.

So getting it replaced soon. I don't know what I would do without this PC. I have my laptop but that's on Win7 still. But yeah the panic was real on this one. UGH!!! This is why the next PC I purchase, will be a prebuilt, no more of this build your own PC. It's just too much for me to deal with.

As much trouble as it is causing, can you imagine the drama if this fail had happened in your laptop? I still love my desktop. When something goes wrong it can be put right..馃樂

@whowasthatmaskedman Thing of it is, the laptop is an ultimate last resort. Like I'll do everything in my power to make this PC work right before pulling out the laptop.
Stupid question but have you tried to reseat each stick?

@SooperSarah Yea so I ended up taking every stick out, and even went as far as putting different sticks in different slots, one of the sticks has got to be bad. But I have 2 new sticks coming of the same exact thing I have now. The black channel ram slots are recognizing 16gb total, but the blue channel is only recognizing 8gb.
