will this be possible with my computer upgrade

[c=004A59]i will shortly have to get my computer upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10, a big hassle because i have a lot of important stuff on my windows 7 desktop computer..

but i was wondering is it possible to have all my media files and other important documents, programs, internet browsers, browser extensions etc - cloned and re-copied onto the new windows 10 hard drive/system?

or when i upgrade would i have to copy everything manually? there's no way to clone everything and transfer it to my new windows 10 system?

to add, i wont be be getting a brand new computer, i'll just be having windows 10 formatted on to my c drive in this computer, and i will have dual operating systems, win 7 and win 10.....would that work?[/c]

Whatever you decide to do make sure you have a backup of anything important before starting the upgrade.
@ninalanyon Absolutely!

Windows will begin the upgrade with the best of intentions; promising to keep everything. However, it may not be able to do all that. So a complete backup (or 2) is a necessity. Definitely drag and drop all your media & documents & personal files etc to some external drive. Browsers, extensions, media players, etc may have to be re-installed on Win10. Or they may not; only way to know is to try it and be prepared for failure.

Upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 should have an option to decide what happens to your personal files during the installation/upgrade process. There should be an option to do nothing/keep all your files.
