Doesn't Staples know that Seagate is a horrible brand?

Years ago when I had my 486 PC, the hard drive was Seagate. I remember that after some time, I would have to tap the tower to get it to boot, found out my 30mb Seagate hard drive was failing. It wasn't only but a couple of years old!!

I hate Seagate hard drives. I've always used Maxtor or Western digital. I'll never use Seagate. But the problem is, Staples only sells Seagate external hard drives. But Staples is about a 23 minute drive from me. Best buy is 35 minutes in a whole different city.

I'd recommend WD Blue, they're generally pretty reliable. Not especially the fastest though.

@Teirdalin I typically go with the WD 7200 RPM drives. I don't do SSD, and after seeing a friends SSD literally die on them only after like 2 years, I'll stick with the 7200 RPM drives. They've always been reliable for me.

This is helpful. I hate my seagate hard drive, so I’ll try a different brand. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks.

30MB drive? Is this a 1985 device?

@Northwest It might have been. It was a long time ago. And while I'm sure brands can get better, I've just always sworn by Maxtor ever since then. Even when WD was out and available, I'd always go with Maxtor, because I'd never had one problem using Maxtor hard drives.

Hell the one Maxtor drive lasted me for 15 years.
