Computer issue

I put unbuntu linux on a lap top for my mom. I made it as super secure as I could. My mom being 80 has been hacked more times then i can count on her windows computer. She hates passwords and its like pulling teeth to get her to use strong passwords for anything.
So she has comcast come over to fix a phone issue. The guy got on this linux computer, t think he was fishing for her financial info. He wiped wiped the computer to cover his crime and loaded windows 11.
Is there any way to reverse engineer what he did and bring back linux and ann my security protocols.

That technician was clearly in the wrong but I can't help a niggling suspicion that Comcast encourages their staff to do that. Might be worth asking it directly, the leading question, why did its employee wipe Linux and install Windows without the owner's permission?

Be prepared to write a letter to as high a manager as you can find in the company - the "contact" details on most big company web-sites, if given at all, are there to protect the company from awkward questions. And add, "I look forwards to a full explanation for his actions and your policy regarding customers' software, by return."

It might still ignore you, but if a second letter also asking why the first was ignored, also draws a blank; write a third this time clearly labelled "cc: ... Police", local Press or whoever else - and do indeed do that.

Really though, even with what you have done to help her, I think you need a long hard talk with your mother about whether she should be using a computer at all, if she refuses to take even the most basic security precautions.

@ArishMell i wrote a letter to comcast corporate. Mailed it on my way to work Wednesday. I will take great pride in talking down to whom ever calls me in the coming weeks.
