You know me I'm an Apple Hater, but I live with people who either Don't care or Are Apple Fangirls.

I literally have a 2024 Mac Mini I need to go reboot to get my blue bubbles server back online but just to steal access to IMessage and run an instance of SearX for me to keep my searches truly private.

But I drove them to Xfinity yesterday as the Families leading Technology specialist and had their Phones upgraded to an iPhone 17 pro and iPhone 17 Pro-Max which means, We can finally just donate our Lightning cables or I can sell them off.

I went and ordered 3 pairs of USB 3.1 Gen 2 Compliant USB-C cables for my Nintendo Switch 2 and Sony Xperia and Samsung phones.

So I need to get them labeled but essentially those have the 10GBPS Datalink speeds I've been so excited about.

Lightning Cables are unfortunately extremely slow now, in tech years Lightning belongs back in the Dinosaur Age of Vaccum tubes, like, Tech moves fast, so those Lightning cables are Ancient now. They're so slow. the big problems with USB-C is that it's hyper complicated mess.

USB not only keeps changing version numbers but then they added the generations on top of the evolving version numbers, they're never labeled either unless you do it yourself. Oh and good luck remembering what the Data link speeds are for every version as well as every generation without a chart.

Yeah it's a mess. I'm going to have to get these new cables labeled.

But either way, We to Dispose of our lightning cables when the new phones arrive.

Yeah they didn't have any in stock so we have to wait for them to mail them to us but that's it. We're done. From iPhone 14 which was the last stop before the European union's interference finally forced Apples hand and I've got the Fast Cables coming.

Moore's law isn't dead (yet) it's just slowing down so the number of transistors we can fit on a CPU die doubles about every 24 months. 2 years instead of a year and a half.
