"it just works" is bullshit, no one has reasonable defaults.

What the makers of OS's actually do is based on what they consider a "norm".

This is why people don't change those options. They want to go along with the "norm".

We are freaks to the maker's of OS's.

Just with my android cellphone their are options being pushed to force you to accept the "norm".

One case is the default browser. They are forcing you to make one and only one choice.

This presents a problem with people like me. I use multiple browsers. So if I make a accidental mistake and press, make this the default browser, instead of choosing the button to select a different browser, I then have a huge problem then. That mistake by OS's maker is deemed permanent.

There's is only one way to get rid of that option. And that is to install another browser, make that the permanent browser, then uninstall it. So there is no longer a permanent browser.

This is being forced all across all operating systems. They purposely make it hard to change anything. Because it's not considered the "norm".
