Had a big day yesterday.
I brought two hoodies into a Local Tailor earlier in the month I had to visit a local Goodwill and buy two more pairs so that we could harness the cuffs off of them and they could remove them from one pair and sew them into the other because the economics of it worked out in my favor as these were High quality if thinner Anime Hoodies with a cute girlie on them that cost 100 dollars each so the fact that I got 2 of them fixed for about 60 worked out my favor over replacing them. 40 dollars in labor 20 in stuff I bought at Goodwill. I remember when I went I knew we were low on Batteries so I replenished our supply. But she was done so I had to go pick those up.
But yesterday it started with us going out to eat but when I got back I was supposed to go drop off our recyclables at the Bottle drop facility and in the chaos of the shuffle back into the car I dropped my Samsung Galaxy A16 and the screen cracked so i had to get a new smartphone which fortunately I just had to pay off and get onto a new Contract with Xfinity so there was a 108 dollar charge which ouch but not too terrible, I got a Samsung Galaxy S26 base model which is sufficient for me really, I didn't like the A16 it was pretty choppy. The new one is responsive so that's nice. I also got the Galaxy watch and now I've got Cable TV service again then I had to let someone else eat at McDonalds, on the way home and then take bottles, rest for 2 hours and then go Right back out for Groceries on top of everything else.
But what really was of note to me is that this smartphone has the Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 chips from Qualcomm
Which someone did a benchmark on Geekbench and came within 1% of the the A19 chip from the iPhone 17 Pro Max of Single core task and Demolished it 17% on Multicore which for Specheads that only care about performance means the old tech empire is BACK and getting revenge.
ARM-For-Windows is getting better and Snapdragon are FASTER depending on the task than Apple's literal top of the line.
Emulators are better on Android and more available on top of everything else and if you have Microsoft PCs and Laptops or even Linux ones like we do the fact that Android plays Better with Windows is pivotal
If you care about battery life Arm for Windows could be a game changer going forward.
Anyway. I wish this was still an Xperia with MicroSD support but sadly Sony left the country so I can't get cell service on my Xperia.
Revenge of the Old Tech Empire is at hand though. I love it.
this all makes the Samsung S26 basically the better bang for your buck over the iPhone 17 models. ALL OF THEM.
