Why is my phone battery depleting several % every minute now?

Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, Android 15, One UI 7. Literally never happened before until when I charged my phone in the morning. In the battery part for settings, it doesn't show any app that's unusually eating up resources. Recharging doesn't seem to really be that off, but discharging is extremely fast. Even my gaming laptop isn't even discharging the battery this much!

Make sure location and wi fi are turned off. Those are big drains but shouldn't be THAT bad

Unless something cr4zy happened, the battery is not even three years old and should be fine.

@HoeBag i rebooted Android it went back to normal, but AccuBattery did show average battery usage was alarmingly too high before I did that. Even after rebooting and it went down, it still hovered above what's considered healthy for the battery so yeah, my phone is dying.

@uikakarotuevegeta I wouldn't think a phone or battery that new would have any problems unless it were dropped in water, subject to extreme temperatures for a long time, OR if it had some kind of virus.

I am no phone expert. If you think your phone is about to quit, make sure and back up everything so it doesn't just get lost.

@HoeBag well I did break the screen and had it repaired twice, and both times the repairman didn't fully seal the case so maybe some water got in and damaged the battery?

Besides after 2-3 years, it's expected for mid range and budget Android phones to start showing defects unfortunately. Unlike iPhones and Google Pixels that only have problems 4-5 years later.

@uikakarotuevegeta It is probably time for a new one if your present one has been fixed a couple times.
Once anything has had any repairs other than routine maintenance, it is often just not the same.

With my phone, I of course have a case and a screen protector, and I never download the updates. Often times, updates just screw things up.
