On occasion, cell phones astonish me.

It started with a text from an unknown number.

“What are your plans tomorrow?”

And it burgeoned from that to meeting a young woman named Olivia, who was trying to invite her friend Jennifer over for Asian food, but had the wrong number.

Maybe 20 minutes of chatting. Just warmth between strangers. Rejuvenating.

It made me happy.

Isn’t that amazing ? That is really cool.

I received a text like that once from someone apparently inviting a family member to supper. She was describing the meal, pot roast ("your favorite" she said) with roasted potatoes.

I texted back, "I’m sorry, you have the wrong number. But it sounds absolutely delicious!" 😊

She thanked me, and we chatted. She then said, "If you’re free, you’re welcome to join us ! Here’s the address—"

Turned out she was in Kansas.
@bijouxbroussard This one’s from Singapore and now in California. She did a similar thing, and said if you’re ever in Cali, you have my number.
