What symptoms do you have.
I've had an iPad for 3 years. Never had an issue but it depends on what you mean by "messed up".

@Northwest I had someone to look at it and they pointed out all the outside influences such as we have three computers hooked up in this room alone. Someone else said not to have my coffee cup close to it because it has a metal liner. We have phones all over the building and that could be competing for connection. I will try and see how well it goes as the day goes along. Thank you for your input.

@Secretsmile Theres nothing a coffee mug can do to interfere unless you dip your iPad into the coffee mug.
If you're in a "building" as in a business, or you live in a multi-dwelling apartment building, and everyone is sharing the same internet connection, then you may be having a problem getting a connection, because some of the routers have a maximum of number of simultaneous connections.
I'm guessing because I don't what specifically the problem is.

I’ve had a 9th gen iPad for a few years now, and no problems with it at all 🤷♂

Sometimes rebooting it will help. If you continue to have trouble with it contact Apple Support.
