unfortunate accident and its consequenses

My cell phone fell out of my pocket and refused to come to life. Hmmm. I went to the cell phone supplier of choice and was told I could upgrade to a just released phone for no cost and my cost with a new plan would be less than previous. I got a new phone but then how do I get the data out of the old phone. I went to a phone repair shop and in 30 seconds the guy had my old phone up and running. Transferring the files didn't take long but some of the apps didn't transfer. Not too hard to fix and all night to spend playing with the machinery. So far I have no complaints about the new one although it doesn't perform quite as advertised. Give me a few weeks and I will have it figured out.
