Printer switch not working

My printer switch doesn’t depress anymore to turn on power to my printer, is this a sign I need to spend £35.00 on a new wireless colour printer ? Anyone had this to happen, the machine is 7 years old .

Thank you very much Helen, I’m in the UK, so I think a brand new printer is needed then.

Good mechanical switches are expensive – too expensive for a $50 appliance. I had several devices which became defunct because of that sort of problems. 😐

@swirlie ok, I will, seems to me that there is power going in but the machine isn’t actually working.
