For a first smart phone, would you recommend an iphone or an Android phone?

Guy in the store said the advantages of buying an android phone is you can pick from budget price ones to mid range to premium price ones if can afford them, but iphone are all premium flagship phones and unless get an older refurbished one will be paying big prices. So are iphone far superior?

Anything but an iphone. My work gave that blackberry below for us all around 2008 a year later switch us to a droid.

Problem was while blackberry was secure even then, it also wasn't really computer friendly. That's why they switched. They wanted more control over the workers. It was too secure for their likes.

iPhones aren't necessarily any better than the flagship android phones. Each have their pluses and minuses. I'd say if you are otherwise a IOS user, then go with iPhone, but otherwise, an android to fit your budget and needs will work just as well and do everything you need.
I usually tell people get an Android as there is more choice and more price-points to suit. Apple phones are ok but I find them a bit overpriced for me but I know plenty of people who love them. For tablets I usually prefer iPads over Android so have always had ipads!
I like the Samsung Galaxy, I don't have one but I've tried several other people's. They are a good size, with straightforward features, decent cameras, & reasonable service.

@lovelywarpedlemon They'd be in the android range of phones, yeah I was told they are good
No iPhone isn't superior. It just always expensive. There are flagship androids as well that are just as pricey and doesn't lock you into apple's ecosystem.

@canusernamebemyusername Yeah the sales person said though with an iphone you're getting premium quality and top of the range cameras on the phone, aswell as everything else needed on a top of the range of smart phone, but that if you want something less fancy there's good budget androids

The logo itself demonstrates a defective product. Would you buy a bitten apple from the store? iPhones are for people who would.

I’ve had both. Android is better if you are business minded. iPhones are toys. I am using one currently and miss my Android.
