Anything you delete from your system is not completely gone...

There was a 2 GB file recovered from my system by forensic team. I had deleted it a month ago. I had rebooted the system several times. It's really amazing...

"Deleting" a file only removes its name (or "inode"). The data are still on your HD or SSD. If you really want to delete something you need a dedicated program such as "Permanent Eraser", a free app that allows you to securely delete files using one of several wiping methods like 3-pass DoE or 35-pass Gutmann.

... oh and on an SSD it's not possible to secure-delete a file. I repeat: it. is. not. possible.
All you can do is destroying the SSD. It's the only option you have. 😐

Thanks for the info.

Why did a forensic team need to recover files from your computer?

@caccoon because it was a critical file and I accidentally deleted it from my system...
