my mothers little dog is going to have to be put down

she's a yorkshire terrier and has been my mothers little friend for a long time...my mother lives far from me now and my mothers dog has kept her company and been a companion......but the dogs back legs have gone and she's in a lot of pain, so my mother was telling me the best humane thing to do would be to have her put to sleep....................so my mum is understandibly upset but she's trying to be strong...as when the dog goes my mum will be alone apart from my sister who lives in the next village and looks out for my mother.

i felt upset for my mother as well, i told my mum my heart breaks for you but my mum told me the best thing you can do for me is to be strong, so that's what i'm trying to do; be strong for my mum....but its hard because i have a personality disorder and have trouble with my emotions sometimes..

i'm very lonely living here on my own, but i know no one can come and do it for me, ie- get a life and get a woman partner, i just have to get on with it and work through my problems.

but at this time my thoughts are with my mum and her about to depart from her little companion.

Sorry to hear about this. I had to put down my 15-year-old Maltese a bunch of years ago, after health problems and senility mounted and mounted. I miss him a lot. Hopefully, after the grieving period, your mother can adopt a new puppy.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is crushing to lose a pet who has literally become part of the family.

Graphite is correct...the easiest way to get through the death of a beloved pet is to get a new puppy right away.
